quality of the vehicle drawings
The sketches of the AUTOVIEW database are drawn based on blueprints of producers or special photographs, made of the vehicles.
When scaled to meters, the difference between the drawing and the real object is less then 1 inch (2.5 cm). When plotted in the usual sketches in accident reconstruction, this is the line width of the drawings.
Please keep in mind that vehicles involved in accidents can differ from our database drawings by individual design (enlargement of body, clearance...) to an important extent.
Highlights of the AUTOVIEW-drawings:
- calculated position of centre of mass marked (unloaded weight)
- line of symmetry marked for better adjusting
- wheels drawn as polyline, dimension controlled
- measures (standard model) controlled
- doors in top view drawn as block, can be rotated and 'opened'
- shapes of cars can be easily "deformed" by CAD-tool 'extend'
in more recent drawings included: - position of seats and wheels marked
- mesurements of vehicle included (length, width, wheelbase, track, front overhang, mass)
